A popular Seattle hotel in the city’s trendy South Lake Union neighborhood is slated to become an outpost for the 1 Hotels brand, known for its posh properties in Hawaii and London.

The Pan Pacific Hotel will transform into the 1 Hotel Seattle in 2025, 1 Hotels’ parent company, SH Hotels & Resorts, announced this week. The renovation will incorporate 1 Hotels’ signature mix of sustainable luxury, health and wellness amenities and cool lifestyle hotel vibes. It’s also the first Seattle hotel for SH Hotels & Resorts, which operates brands like Baccarat Hotels and Treehouse Hotels.

“Embarking on the transformation of the Pan Pacific into 1 Hotel Seattle represents a long-held aspiration for SH Hotels & Resorts to establish a presence in Seattle, a city renowned for its progressive sustainability initiatives,” Barry Sternlicht, founder of 1 Hotels and chairman of SH Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement. “This endeavor epitomizes our commitment to sustainability and underscores our belief in the profound impact of nature.”

The 153-room hotel’s lobby will feature a living wall of greenery and a stairway made of reclaimed timber and stacked stone. A “signature destination restaurant” will feature a menu inspired by “the diverse, fresh flavors of the Pacific Northwest.” Rooms and suites will feature reclaimed wood finishes, stone-clad millwork and moss art pieces. Many rooms will also have a view of Seattle’s iconic Space Needle.

“We are excited to redefine lifestyle luxury in the Pacific Northwest,” Raul Leal, CEO of SH Hotels & Resorts, said in a prepared statement. “The new hotel will feature meticulously curated interiors that celebrate the city’s rich heritage of craftsmanship and showcase our biophilic design approach with a vibrant food and beverage offering. Every aspect of the hotel will be a testament to our dedication to creating unforgettable experiences for both travelers and locals, showcasing our commitment to sustainability and personalized experiences.”
