Existing Marriott Bonvoy cardholders: Earn up to 10,000 points with this special promotion
If you hold an eligible Marriott Bonvoy credit card and have been looking for an opportunity to earn more Bonvoy points, then you are in luck. Marriott is offering a limited-time promotion for current cardholders to earn some bonus points.
Let’s take a look at this special promotion.
Offer details
If you have an eligible Marriott Bonvoy card (listed below) that you received before April 1, you can enroll by Aug. 1 to earn 200 bonus points and an additional 10,000 points if you spend $7,000 on your card by Sept. 24.
The information for the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
You must enroll in this offer to receive the bonus points. You can enroll in the offer in your online account or the Amex app.

Should you participate?
If you’re in need of extra Bonvoy points, this offer is definitely worth considering. However, in most cases, this is a bad return on your spending. According to TPG’s July 2024 valuations, 10,000 Bonvoy points are only worth $85.
If you have a big trip planned or will be staying a lot of nights at Marriott properties within the next few months and already have a Bonvoy card, you might as well take advantage of the bonus multiplier on Marriott stays and grab yourself a bonus 10,000 points while you’re at it.
However, if you have other cards that earn a higher return on spending than your Bonvoy card does, you’ll likely get more value from putting your $7,000 in spending on it and skipping this offer. And you’ll get the biggest return on your spending if you can take advantage of a new card’s welcome offer instead.
Bottom line
If you have a Marriott Bonvoy card that you received before April 1, enroll by Aug. 1 to get 200 bonus points and be eligible to earn 10,000 points after spending $7,000 on your card by Sept. 21. However, if you have other credit cards in your portfolio, calculate your return on spending to ensure that it’s worth spending $7,000 on your Bonvoy card to get 10,000 bonus points.
