Current welcome bonuses on the American Express Hilton credit cards

From low-budget to ultra-luxury, there’s a Hilton property for everyone. The global Hilton portfolio includes almost 20 brands and over 7,000 hotels.

When it comes to cobranded credit cards, American Express offers Hilton travelers a variety of choices in that arena, too. There are four Amex Hilton credit cards, each offering a solid welcome offer for new cardholders and an array of perks to make your next stay more rewarding and enjoyable.

Do note that Amex refreshed the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card and Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card in October 2023. These cards have revamped benefits and increased annual fees.

Let’s look at the current bonuses on these Hilton credit cards.

The information for the Hilton Aspire Card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card

Here’s what to know about the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass.

THE POINTS GUY

Current welcome offer

Earn 155,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. Offer ends April 17.

TPG values Hilton points at 0.6 cents each, making 155,000 points worth $930 — over six times the card’s $150 annual fee (see rates and fees). This isn’t the highest offer we’ve ever seen on this card, but it’s worth applying for.

Additional benefits

With this card, you’ll earn 12 points per dollar spent directly with a hotel or resort within the Hilton portfolio, 6 points per dollar at U.S. supermarkets, U.S. restaurants and U.S. gas stations, 4 points per dollar on U.S. online retail purchases, and 3 points per dollar on other purchases. Terms apply.

The card comes with some nice perks, including a free night reward after you spend $15,000 on eligible purchases each calendar year, up to $200 in statement credits each year (up to $50 each quarter) on eligible Hilton purchases, complimentary Hilton Gold elite status and a path to Hilton Diamond status through spending: $40,000 of eligible purchases in a calendar year.

Hilton Honors American Express Card

Here’s what to know about the Hilton Honors American Express.

THE POINTS GUY

Current welcome offer

Earn 100,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after you spend $2,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. Offer ends April 17.

The regular Hilton Amex card has no annual fee (see rates and fees) so unsurprisingly, you’ll earn fewer points with this welcome offer. However, those 100,000 points are still worth $600, per TPG valuations — a solid offer for a card with no annual fee. It’s not the best offer in the card’s history, but it meets our threshold to be a good time to apply.

Additional benefits

With this card, you’ll earn 7 points per dollar spent directly with a hotel or resort within the Hilton portfolio, 5 points per dollar spent on eligible purchases on dining at U.S. restaurants, U.S. supermarkets and U.S. gas stations and 3 points per dollar on all other eligible purchases. Terms apply.

This entry-level card also offers automatic Hilton Honors Silver status (with an upgrade to Gold when you spend $20,000 on eligible purchases in a calendar year) and no foreign transaction fees (see rates and fees) — also a rarity for a card with no annual fee. Enrollment is required for select benefits.

The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card

Here’s what to know about the Hilton Honors American Express Business.

THE POINTS GUY

Current welcome offer

Earn 130,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after you spend $3,000 on purchases on the card in the first three months of card membership.

These points are worth $780, based on TPG’s valuations — quite good value for a card with a $95 annual fee (see rates and fees).

The best offer we’ve seen on this card provided 180,000 points after $10,000 of spending. The current bonus requires less than half the amount of spending for 50,000 fewer points, so if the spending requirement in the past was an obstacle, now would be a good time to apply.

Additional benefits

With this card, you’ll earn 12 points per dollar spent directly with a hotel or resort within the Hilton portfolio, 6 points per dollar on select business and travel purchases and 3 points per dollar on all other eligible purchases. Terms apply.

The card has some solid benefits as well, including 10 Priority Pass visits per year (enrollment is required), a free night reward after you spend $15,000 on eligible purchases in a calendar year (plus the ability to earn a second certificate by spending $60,000 total on eligible purchases in a calendar year), complimentary Hilton Gold elite status and the same spending-based pathway to earning Hilton Diamond status.

Bottom line

The points haul on these cards could lead to some amazing Hilton redemptions, including luxury stays at resorts like the Conrad Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa or ski-friendly destinations like the Hilton DoubleTree in Highline Vail.

Remember that Amex has a “one per lifetime” policy for earning welcome offers, but a pop-up window should let you know if you’re not eligible for a bonus before you submit your application.
