World of Hyatt loyalists: Book these SLH properties before they leave the Hyatt system
World of Hyatt members have plenty of reasons to don their mourning veils as of late.
The loyalty partnership between Hyatt and MGM Resorts severed, and Marriott is now the hotel conglomerate of choice for the Las Vegas gaming giant. More recently, Small Luxury Hotels of the World — a great way for World of Hyatt loyalists to have bespoke luxury options in a variety of cities and towns around the world — announced a plan that will see the Hyatt partnership end in favor of one with Hilton.
That’s a gut punch for Hyatt, as SLH gave Hyatt a presence in many international markets that didn’t have an actual Hyatt-branded hotel.
Luckily, there is still time to enjoy an SLH stay — and earn Hyatt points in the process — before the group walks down the aisle with Hilton, though a set timeline on when the partnership will end isn’t clear.
“At this time, World of Hyatt members can still book participating SLH Hotels on Hyatt’s booking channels, and nothing changes as of now for existing World of Hyatt member reservations,” a Hyatt spokesperson told TPG in early February. “More information on the end of this relationship will be shared with guests and members in the coming months.”
I polled the TPG newsroom for some of my colleagues’ favorite SLH properties so you know which ones to try to book before the partnership concludes. Here’s our not-so-definitive list of SLH properties to reserve before they leave World of Hyatt.
